Harrington Products CZ-52 Firing Pins, Rollers and Extractors

The original production CZ-52 extractors have two potential problems:

First, due to steel quality issues, the original extractor may break.

Second, they may not reliably feed fresh rounds and extract spent cartridge cases without modification. Our page of replacement firing pins discusses the feed and extraction problems and mentions some hand modification that can alleviate them. It is also discussed by Federal's barrel conversion instructions, copied on our links and notes page. However, the original extractors are still likely to break because of the quality of steel used.

The solution is Harrington Products' specially redesigned and machined replacement extractor!

To solve the breakage issue, the replacement extractors are machined from high-impact tool steel and they have been hardened to around 42 Rockwell.

To solve the feed and ejection issues, they have been redesigned to be "pre-modified" with the necessary changes.

The original extractor design may drag slightly against the firing pin, depending on how the extractor was cut at the factory. Especially with our CZ-52-3 and sometimes with our CZ-52-2 redesigned firing pins, this may cause problems.

At right and below you see the modified design, The rounded cut just above the pivot pin hole in these pictures provides clearance for proper operation with all firing pins.
